  1. Not sure whether it'd be better to have just the active pet visible under avatar, or favorite. I'm also kinda thinking quality control would be nice. Though I don't want to leave people out for their artistic skills not being super polished, at the same time, I'd love to see TGL getting nice quality work submitted. Agreeing on transparency and a set canvas size. Maybe it should be up to the artist to draw the bigger critters to fill up more of the canvas.
  2. If it's possible to do this without the email, that would be great! Just to avoid having to update privacy policies. If the user here can type in theiir username or ID, that should be enough, right? They could give the points to someone else, but that doesn't seem like a big deal.
  3. Ooh, left-hander! I'm right handed, not sure about logical vs creativity, but I heard artists draw things facing the opposite direction of their dominant hand. I'm not sure if this is true, but I definitely tend to draw things facing left.
  4. Alright yay =D Maybe the advertising would be enough later on so you guys don't have to pay out of pocket. As long as you can keep getting quality adoptables. I'm not sure how that will turn out in the longrun. No genitals and such sounds good. Would love to hear from other artists, too.
  5. Ooh that would be nice =D Should there be a voting process on new submissions? Would free advertising for the creator of the adoptable be a helpful incentive for people to submit quality work? (maybe have their username listed somewhere on a species info page). Should there be any written guidelines for submissions aside from things like file size? Just tossing out ideas.
  6. This sounds wonderful and I'm glad to hear you guys want to go through with it! What do you have in mind for the art? Is it all going to be done in one style, or many different styles? I'm open to doing some if you think my style would work for it! Anyway yeah, really excited to start getting little critters <3
  7. Love this idea, and am definitely up for it!
  8. I own one that's two years in but still under development =D
  9. Thank you for your asking! I wouldn't know. =)
  10. Yeah, that seems like a problem with that.
  11. I think is very visable for premade assets! Way less complicated and still allows the free markets so it won't discourage people. The assets could help attract people to the site in a different way. =D Just throwing ideas out there too. You could simplify the payments even more by having an asset collection that's available to premium accounts. They could download whatever they want while they have the monthly subscription. Though this might reduce income and if you don't mind handling the payments, maybe not. Or have a discount for premium members.
  12. Agreed with SingSong. This seems like a good feature for licensing thing! Maybe a 'stock' image database for game developers wherein TGL keeps track of thumbnails and files (which are submitted by artists). Then anyone can pay to use them, a portion of it goes to the site and a portion of it goes to the artist. I've seen forums that made people pay a percent of any sales (like how I posted those $5 sketches), and I never wanted to sell anything because of it. I don't like to do any commissions or full copyright sales unless it's a free marketplaces and know a lot of artists ho would agree. A good chunk of the people I refer are artists looking to start out for the frst time selling their work (or who are maybe a little more seasoned, but not professionals). Non professional artists tend to not make much money as it is, so they will seek out free marketplaces. Telling them a small percentage goes to the site may not seem like a big deal, but is a pretty bad selling point. I don't think they'd join or stick around after finding that out. I'm happy to donate and pay for premium features, and have ads, don't get me wrong! =D And for a gallery of images you can pay to use on a royalty basis would be great. I'm just not a fan of garnishing commission or full copyright sales on artwork. It seems like it would discourage people from joining and participating.
  13. Very good point, actually. Might be a good reason to just re-open and start updating my old portfolio, not let fear keep me from posting. And thank you Kami for the suggestions about DMCA =)
  14. I personally never enter contests because I find it so much easier to just do commissions =D But maybe someone else would be interested. Edit: Unless it's something I personally find fun to draw, but that can be pretty random
  15. Definitely depends on locations. I have family up in Southern Cal, but have never lived there. I lived in Northern Cal though. The temperature year round is pretty moderate, it's not as hot as Southern Cal (from what I've experienced), so I prefer the summers due to lack of rain. I love when California gets rain, don't get me wrong. Just in terms of personal I'd-rather-be-dry preference LOL. I'm in Florida now, which manages to cram the worst of Southern Cal's summer and winter into one and put it on steroids. You get heat, scary flooding, and then there's the lightning. Also it's not Southern Cal dry heat, oh no. It's wet heat, which IMO is much worse lol. I much prefer winter in FL. The weather basically turns into Northern Cal in the summer or autumn, but with more hurricanes. I also lived in Colorado. Winter is my fav for CO because they get snow. Summer is okay too, but I just love snow.
  16. Not sure if this belongs somewhere else because it's about a hacking tool for a console game, but needs to be run on a PC. Has anyone heard about SpyroEdit 2.0? =o It just came out and is wicked cool! For anyone who's an old school Spyro fan, this is awesome! Whether you're into hacking and modifying games or not, watching videos of all the cool stuff you can do is a blast. Not only does is allow you to easily edit textures, you can modify the geometry of levels. Spyro has a 'new move' that is basically a head bash that causes the terrain to be warped. He also has a barrel rolling ability and more. Without further ado... I give you *drumroll*...
  17. My roommate has a Chinese Crested dog. He's nakie.
  18. Thank you =D I really liked those ones, too.
  19. Thank you two very much! I'm working on adding public resources to the site with plenty of textual content. I'm also rethinking the educational/tutorial pages since I think Matthew is right about making sure it makes sense with the game. With that in mind, I added an educational resources on genetics, which are coded realisticly into the game for our breeding system. So it is both useful for real-life and in-game application (and even recommends guests sign up to learn more genetics by playing the game). Will see what else I can come up with.

  21. Same here on the original Pokemon Games. Pokemon Blue all the way.
  22. I get my inspiration both from games and real life activities/hobbies. With games, I am inspired by certain elements (like flying mechanics) and am inspired to make something similar. I also get inspiration from the real life activities and hobbies I (or others) enjoy.
  23. Oh wow, horses too! That's awesome =D Thank you, Callum!
  24. I don't remember ever seeing Tzar. I definitely recall dealing with funky old computers to play some of those older games though haha. Though my favorite has to be the Sims (1). I spent hours, days, weeks creating make believe people and houses. Also Zoo Tycoon Complete Collection—seeing how many guests I could get into a T-rex infested deathtrap. My parents were worried.
