  1. Thanks for clarifying @volka, i appreciate your response and look forward to your results
  2. I wrote my own framework from the ground up. I think it's the reason development has taken so long haha.
  3. Thanks for the response. I would never sell my game haha, just thought it might be a question some owners may have if they were to use your art. Again, thanks :-) :-)
  4. ...when I should be coding! OK, It's a clickbait title.. I'm not actually addicted, however now you're here, I just wanted to point out an observation. I normally come on every day or every 2 days at the latest. I read everything and binge post to anything that takes my interest. I noticed on the front page this image and thought I would share the evidence of my "addiction".. O.o
  5. Hi @Hare, Thanks! That is very generous. :):):) I just want to clarify - "dont attempt to sell them". I assume this means selling them directly? If someone used your item on their pet site/game but then sold the pet site/game to someone else.. that would fall outside of these terms and conditions? My game The Lost Fable currently has only a few items on it, so I'd like to re-purpose the books to add cover images etc if that is ok with you?
  6. You know my views on this, but I'm going to voice them here so they are public too. I think it should remain as TGL, dont rebrand etc. Currently the discussion topics on here are 80% virtual pet site, and 20% other game genre development discussion. I think keeping the focus on virtual pet sites is a good thing, however being open to expanding to other genres as more people join could also be on the table as a possibility in the future. On behalf of everyone (most people - except for the 3 people who find other members of the community here at TGL "okay" [jokes btw]), we know you will steer us in the right direction, and we support whatever you decide to do
  7. Thanks. Just to add for when Digital reads this - Something similar to this is sent on PM, but would be great to get on the actual post itself. I think the post is more effective
  8. Ah fair enough - perhaps @Digital could clarify? If it's any pet, then OMG I would sooooo use a picture of my Cat <3
  9. Could you go into more detail on this? What happens once this has been called?
  10. OMG, This weekend is going to be EPIC. My wife is going to stay with her best friend (we joke that she is my second wife haha), and she will be there from Saturday AM until Sunday PM. Coupled with the fact that my wife also has to work Monday and I do not due to the Bank Holiday.. omg this weekend is going to be 75% coding and 25% Gaming* (Factorio / Rainbow Six Seige). I am hoping to get ALOT done this weekend <Needs to turn of TGL notifications... lol> *NB: My 15 years experience in web development have taught me my ideal pattern:: For me, it's important to break coding into 3-4 hours per session with an hour or so of gaming. This allows for maximum concentration and output from me during the coding time haha
  11. Is it possible to customise it? If yes, perhaps you could also add links to all the relevant guides (Community Guidelines, Adoptables Guide etc) ? When i first joined, i remember this post was was the FIRST thing i read, since it was my first notification.
  12. Ah ok fair enough, that makes sense. Perhaps throw a one-liner JS into there to auto click it once on page load <innocently walks away - I didnt say anything > haha
  13. Thanks @Digital . It is definately an improvement, great job! I've promoted it so hopefully some of our newers members will find it
  14. How does a custom adoptable work compared to a normal adoptable? Also can we use /any/ image or does it have to be a variation of the pet it is overwriting?
  15. Haha yep, you're on 170 at the time of writing this. Hope you catch up soon Dude, seriously. You need to have the "LIKE" button on your posts cos there is so many times that I want to agree with your post but I dont have anything to add that is worth adding a reply for. PS, or i could simply reply: <"LIKES" @Digital's post> (lol)
  16. 127 questions is alot of questions... if it were 5-10 then I'd probably do it, but 127, one per page.. My other concerns are the sneaky ways in which you are gathering information from people. Irrelevant or identifiable information is gathered in this survey, couple that with the users IP, using the data gathered in the survey it wouldnt be impossible to correctly identify that person - especially developers - and then trick their host/lawyer/"password recovery answers" on their email. Coupled with only 18 people have filled this survey in... I would suggest to others reading this be careful with what information you provide - especially since the questions seem to target specifically developers of games. "What is your highest school level/degree completed" "Do you name yours pets after your real pet?" "What is your household income" "How many team members do you have?" "Do you pay them?" "How much do you pay them?" "What are the contract terms you have with your team members?" "How much money is your game making per month?" "How much money are you spending on costs per month?" "Have you approached a lawyer about your game?" "How much do they cost?" "Who was it?"
  17. As far as moderating goes, it all boils down to one thing: Treat others with the respect that you would expect them to treat you with. I think any forum community - including this one - boils down to that one single principle. Everything else is then geared towards ensuring that users adhere to that one principle.
  18. Good idea. This might also entice users of those sites to start visiting us too
  19. Thanks. Your positive feedback means alot to me I'll try and write more guides in the future for other tools or programs that help me in my day-to-day life for running and developing my game
  20. lol yep, just so he could troll the world even more haha
  21. @Digital I'm not sure how "customisable" the codings are for the clubs feature, but it would be really cool if there was a field "Opening Date" if you select yes for "In Development". Then there could be a status on the club's homepage or something showing "This game is planning to open to the public in 110 days" or something?
  22. Wow, a Round of applause to @Hare . Quite impressed by your genetics, great job!
  23. Thanks for the update @Digital . It's great to see TGL becoming so active
  24. Ah good good Glad to hear things are turning around for the best I'm great - I've been involved with a few sites here and there but nothing glued me or got me interested, so a few years ago I made the decision to make my own virtual pet site. I'm planning on opening it in a few months
