The following is an official update from Realm of Lyth regarding DeviantArt’s intent to necessitate the use of Eclipse starting on May 20th, 2020. - Our general plan for the future will be listed out below, but to summarize important points: - The change to Eclipse does not greatly affect our plans for the future. - Our goal is to make the site fully functional on its own, so that DeviantArt is merely a supplement and not required for any game features. - Guest Artists may begin posting new adoptable designs to any social media of their choice, and are not required to post to DeviantArt. In the future, we hope to make designs more accessible on lythbound.com as well. - We are working on an alternate way to allow character transfers and voids for those who do not wish to make an account, however this may require more thorough proof of ownership. Please read below for more information. Lythbound.com's DeviantArt Functions Since the release of lythbound.com, the goal has always been to make our own site self-sufficient so that we do not require DeviantArt in order to play any facet of the game. In some ways, we have thus far been successful; however some functions remain on DeviantArt (such as the ability to update Masterlist art, and playing the Gachapanions machine). As such, we will continue working toward this goal. The DeviantArt group will not be deleted or removed, but our hope is that it continues to become more of a supplement to the game at lythbound.com than a requirement. We will continue to support any functions currently on DeviantArt, and do not expect disruption from our end in providing game support. Again, this was the plan anyway, and while we do not have an ETA for specific features being moved to lythbound.com, we were already preparing to do this. Lythbound.com Guest Artist Sales A feature that we have discussed internally is the ability for Guest Artists to sell adoptables on lythbound.com, to provide better accessibility to players to purchase them. We have held off on announcing this publicly as it is still in early stages of planning, but it seems prudent to mention now, given the situation on DeviantArt. For the time being, we will be allowing Guest Artists to branch out on where they advertise and sell adoptables. Meaning, Guest Artists may choose to advertise somewhere such as Toyhou.se, Twitter, Furaffinity, etc, and may take payment from purchasers on those sites. To better facilitate this, it is likely that going forward, purchasing a design from a Guest Artist will require having or making a site account. When we complete our lythbound.com area for sales, a site account absolutely will be required for purchases, so this is a preliminary step toward that. We recommend joining the official Discord Server to get updates on adoptable listings and other information. Off-site Transfers One feature that currently remains on DeviantArt is the ability to transfer or void characters on the masterlist without making a lythbound.com site account. If you have a site account, or plan to make one, you do not need to worry about this section. We would like to keep this option available for those who own characters made in the past, as we understand what frustrations inherent in forcing sign-ups just to leave the game. However, we are looking into our options for the future. If you do not wish to make a lythbound.com account and claim your characters, we recommend saving proof of your ownership of your DeviantArt account (particularly if you are planning to leave or close your account on DeviantArt). We will not transfer characters without proof that the transferer is truly the owner. The easiest way to transfer characters will always be making an account on lythbound.com and claiming your characters by linking to DeviantArt. This week has been very productive on both the development and artist side of things, so buckle up for a fantastic update. First off, a new gene management area has arrived at the Exploration Map. Adorafly's Lair was the crown jewel of the Love World, which has been salvaged by Celestial Sprites. They have worked tirelessly to preserve this special magic in order to allow the new horses of Celestia to experience its power! All genetic items can be previewed and applied to horses in this area. To access Adorafly's Lair, simply navigate to the "Exploration Map" or click this link! Let us know your thoughts regarding this feature in the comments! We always look to player input for future revisions. Next up, a new installment of the Celestial Lore has been released. Will Nyssa make it to the healing pool unscathed, or with Evander's goons wipe her off the face of Celestia? Find out here! Unfamiliar with Celestial Lore? This is a fantastic story of the falling Kingdom's royal family. Read about each character, catch up on previously released chapters, and read the Celestial Backstory in the Celestial Lore area! This feature is also accessible through the Exploration map. Celestial Equine has also received a ton of new genetics to the Cash Shop and the Magic Shop! We are still working on this month's Spotlight Event Package, but we can promise it will be a good one! In addition to new genetics, we are also 80% through our white marking revision project. We only have 10 more white genes left for whitening and brightening! All horses will see this change through their profile. Which white marking are you most excited about? We are currently cooking up a beautiful training area for players to interact with their horses to increase adjustable stats. This area should release by the start of next week! In addition to a new training area, we are continuing to revise bugs associated with the Battle Arena. The bug with points and incorrect images displaying will be revised by early next week! These will be that last few updates before we change our focus to our beloved herd-lands. Who is ready for a little bit of character interaction? I know we are! Lastly, our biggest update is occurring tonight at 2am! We are upgrading to a faster server to cut allow for more resources and reduce our lag time. As many of us have begun to experience the quarantine life due to Covid-19, we would like to take a moment to address our current development timeline. Though we expected to have a few new features released this week, it has been important to us and our team to make sure our personal lives are under control before refocusing our efforts on CE's continued development. However, this gives us a great opportunity to release a plethora of items to the Celestial Shops as well as get to know our player base a bit more! Over the next few weeks, we will be teasing new features, feature concepts, genes, and more over on our Discord chat. If you aren't a member yet, join! Discord is free to use and the easiest way to stay connected with other players ;) Onto our actual updates! Earlier this week we sent a care package of 35,000 coins and 3 gems to all players to help everyone have the funds to play for longer periods of time. As a reminder, everyone is eligible for a weekly salary from the bank, and can earn a nice amount of coins by participating in the Beauty Contests, Battle Arena, and Competitions. To piggy-back off of our recent Battle Arena modifications, we have released a Healing Pool feature to allow players to restore the health of their horses on a daily basis! Additional store-line related information regarding the Healing Pool will be released in our next lore release, so stay tuned for additional Lore information! Next up, we have a short development timeline for you all! Over the next two weeks, we will be working on improving/releasing the following: New login/welcome page (more information regarding CE and it's amazing features)Modifications to the breeding script (where the foal goes, proper notifications)Horse Sale/Bid notificationsHerd-land progressWe have a ton of additional features in the works, but the ones listed above will be our primary focus until completed while maintaining feature tweaks and bug fixes. Hello everyone! We've started a few recent updates with this but: we are here with exciting news once more! We recently began working with Lighterium and 0alacrity to bring Nudinyms into the Realm of Lyth, in a similar fashion to the recent merges with Symph Pond and Astral Story. Today we are here to announce that Nudinyms are now officially permanent residents of Lyth! As with previous merges, this means a couple things: Nudinyms' Masterlist is being merged into our existing Masterlist. If you own a Nudinym, they will be added to your Lyth account and they will be playable in all things, just as other antecedents are! Nudinyms' community will be merged in with our own -- please give them a warm welcome! And we will be able to utilize many of Nudinyms' ARPG concepts for upcoming game features. They've got a lot of cool ideas and we've been busily working away at implementation (while still working on some other things we have had on the docket through January). If you were a member of Nudinyms prior to the merge, we will be working on inventory transfers in the coming days. For accounts that have already linked site and DeviantArt together, we will work through and award items and currency. If you haven't yet linked to DeviantArt, you can do so and we will transfer your inventory at that time (as we have done with Symphonies). Jelly, Nudinyms' previous currency, will be converted to Loonoles at a 1:1 ratio. Most items will be transferred over directly, though a couple cases may be receiving a name change. And finally, an achievement will be rewarded to those who owned a Nudinym or had an inventory and participation in the Nudinym ARPG prior to the merge. One other adjustment coming with this update is a change to items previously categorized as “Trinkets.” Trinkets (or “Treasures”) were a collectible feature carried over from Astral Story. We have decided that we would rather focus on pets, badges, and passports as the primary collectibles for individual Lythians. Thus we will be removing currently attached Trinkets from Lythians (they won’t disappear; they’ll go into your inventory!) and changing their item type to be “Ingredients” which will be used in the upcoming crafting feature. Our long-awaited Battle Arena revisions are nearly completed and will be pushed to the live game shortly. These revisions include integration of a monthly mini-storyline, rotating NPC characters, special prizes for defeating said NPC characters, and enhanced user experience during battles. These changes have been made in hopes of giving players more variety in activities to participate in, along with ways to collect/earn rare items and earn coins! Does your horse have what it takes to defeat next month's NPC characters? With that being said, we are in the process of completing testing before pushing these fun updates to the game! These updates should arrive this week and will be accompanied by a User PM. In addition to the revisions to the battle system, we also have a few bug fixes, changes to how Cash Shop breeds are viewed/purchased, and revisions to upgraded account perks. These updates will be expanded on later this week, but we felt like it was time for a little update to fill everyone in on what is to come! Lastly, we are working on a beautiful new welcome page to replace our current landing/login page. We have realized our current setup does not do this fun game justice, and we want to give all players the opportunity to read about/preview the game before joining. Here is a quick preview! This preview is resized and has the main breed art blurred due to the start breed not yet released, and we do not want to spoil the beautiful surprise! Lore Updates Our next lore release has been slightly delayed while we tweak our lore admin interface. ITEM UPDATES One of our main focuses right now is to improve the economy of Celestial Equine. We have revised the "uses" for most wearables to increase usage of consumable items. For example, "Red Polos" previously had 100 uses, whereas now they have 10. These items are fairly common, but with over 6,000 in circulation, it is hard to establish any value. We will be releasing games that require certain items to "create" your own new item, so hopefully, this adds more value to common items! We also have quest modifications in the works, so hold tight! Lastly, we have modified how many items are stocked in each Celestial shop at a time and will continue to adjust item rarity. In the meantime, it is very important to place items for sale in your shops! This will help kick-off item usage and participation in other activities. BEAUTY CONTEST UPDATES After a site-wide poll, we have adjusted the Beauty Contests to be judged each night! BC will be judged at midnight moving forward, so be sure to vote away! Prizes have also been increased to the following: 1st place - 75,000 coins to the player, 10,000 points to the horse 2nd place - 50,000 coins to the player, 7,000 points to the horse 3rd place - 10,000 coins to the player, 5,000 points to the horse Remember, you also earn 1,000 coins and 100 points to the horse for each head to head your horse wins, so this activity is a great way to earn some coins! This award comes with a beautiful profile badge, name icon from the barn view, and can be searched for on the horse search area. This award should dramatically increase the value of his/her lineage and be a coveted prize. DEVELOPMENT UPDATES Lastly, we have fallen a bit behind with the remaining development tasks we have outlined in previous news posts. We are in the process of resolving a few issues on the backend which has caused bugs with our admin panel. Though it is difficult to pump the brakes, we know it is very important to keep the admin panel in tip-top shape before working on new improvements. First, we have a few fun dev updates for you all! We have managed to fix our bug regarding the shopping carts on the news page associated with the newest items. Now you can click the shopping cart to be directed to the proper area to purchase said item! Cash shop items will direct to the Cash Shop, and regular items will direct to the shop they can be found in. Remember, only Cash Shop items are constantly stocked! Checking Celestial Shops regularly is the best way to snatch up new items. Next, we have added the ability for moderators to select Spotlight Horses! Spotlight Horses are a very special designation for horses who stand out in a crowd. From having perfect stats to a beautiful appearance, Spotlight Horses deserve recognition! If your horse is selected as a Spotlight recipient, a special badge will be added to its profile and from the barn view. Spotlight Horses can be searched for via the Search page. Enjoy!
