  1. Hello everyone, Martyn here with a little announcement for you all.
Some of you may have already noticed whilst other might not have, but @Digital has been looking to sell TGL onto another person in order to manage the upkeep of the place and luckily someone has taken him up on that chance!

Welcome @judda as the new owner of The Gaming List, he brings a few new members to the team so please give a cheer for Bedouin and Tinkerbell as well. There isn't much to say right now but I can detail a few topics we've discussed in order to give you an idea of some of the things we're looking at changing on the forums in the next year.

We will be taking a look at how the marketplace is structured, what can be improved within it and how we can ensure that members will have a much safer experience when working with anybody who sells their services in it.

We will be working on improving the staff made content, this may be through the forums or even through other media, with new guides and tips that'll help people within our community to prepare for  game ownership or artists to improve their services for example. We will be looking into interviewing members who've been part of the community for years and see what advice or titbits they can provide us on their experience.

And last but not least, a smaller update whereby we will be syncing up the roles within the forums to our discord server. This will require you to verify your account here which will sync up your roles around 10 minutes after you've added your account!

We are always actively looking for feedback and very much appreciate it when you reach out to us, if you ever feel like you have a suggestion or perhaps a new idea that you'd like to talk to us about feel free to reach out to myself, @Bedouin, @judda or @Tinkerbell as we'd love to talk with you!

  2. Apologies for the massive delay in adding your game to the list @HeroKnight, it's now been added albeit without a description. If you want us to add one then just reply to the thread with one and I'll add it asap!

I've added Lorwolf here as well @JimJim, however I noticed that you had a Homepage and a few other links available on Google as well so I've added them. If you want them removed then just say and it'll be done! The same applies to you @Azrael with Leviathan Myth. :)

I've added you HeroKnight to the Game Owners role, this will be your main one with the Members one becoming your secondary.
I noticed that you @Perseus were not part of the role above, so I've added that as your secondary one as you were an Artist first.

  3. I've update the Twitter link for Tattered Weave as it has changed and added a new description to Folk of Lore: Kindling as they sent one my way. If there is anymore changes to links or descriptions then let me know!

  4. I'd like to start a discussion about if people feel music should be or shouldn't be used on Virtual Pet Sites or any of the other types of games associatied with the genre (as in Adoptables, Mobile Games, RPGs & SIMs). So here I go and try that I guess, lol.

As a musician myself I've always felt that music can be implimented into nearly every type of content people use online, but obviously it depends on what that content is and whether or not music would be a suitable feature to have on the site. From a game owner perspective I'd say that a lot of people would not want to come on a site and have music autoplaying, but they might want to have it on YouTube video advertisments or even a Soundtrack CD as a kickstarter reward for contributing to the development of a game. I'm conflicted on what I feel about the use of music in games like Virtual Pet Sites and other similar genres of games.

I know that flash isn't a commonly used programming language these days, so would it be possibly to combine music with HTML5 games?
What are you guys thoughts on the integration of music in the aforementioned games? Is it a worthwhile investment?

  5. Added "Closed Development" to Dappervolk and will update any other games accordingly.
Please feel free to notify me if there are any games whose status changes!

Added Folk of Lore: Kindling and Project: Petsite (apologies for the delay @Claws) to the list as well!

    • Thanks 1
  6. @Sortie
Not gonna lie, as soon as I saw the carrot-like item at the start of the topic I thought to myself that your style looks like the one Lurapets had, did you do work for them at all? I really like what you've shown so far though, you've got a really nicely defined look to your items!

  7. @Reav
Yeah, I second what @Makazu is saying, it would be beneficial to provide people with images of what your sites contents are (so far) to enable them to get a better handle on what you're wanting, though it's completely understandable that you might not want to make it public yet so I'd advise putting it up if you want it via PMs.

Though based on what you've wrote regarding your idea I think that your game has a good chance of succeeding if you can get the right people involved, good luck on finding a partner. Hopefully you'll find one soon! :)

  8. I don't often do them as I never usually remember/stick to them.
But if I was to do one this year, I'd say that I should keep on the path I'm on of bettering myself and not letting people/myself drag me down to the stage I was in January 2018. It wasn't worth getting that low and I aim to never let that happen again!

What about yourself Peps? You got any New Years Resolutions? :D

  9. Added Dappervolk, DuelingPets & MythAura to the list now.
I'm waiting on replies for two other games which I've found, so hopefully they'll be fine with being added to this list. :)

Kaylune has been moved down to the Closed Games area and has a link to its For Sale page.

  10. @Bravefoot
Gosh, that's a list and a half right now. Jeez.
Sailon Moon was by far one of my favourite animes back in the day, I really need to rewatch it sometime. It'll probably look a little dated now but it'll still be great to reminisce.

    @Mobotropolis
Haha, I've never heard of most of these (except Sailon Moon and Fullmetal Alchemist). I've been meaning to get into the second of those for years but I know there is a part in it that brings back memories up for tons of people and I'm worried that it'll get me in the heart too. Without spoiling it, is it really that bad?

  11. @Anoua
Ah, apologies. I replied at like 5am my time.
If you're wanting to change the theme then at the bottom of the page there is a Facebook and Twitter badge, just under that is three option with one of them being Theme, if you click that then you can change your theme. :)

  12. @Anoua
Ah, this might be due to us upgrading the forums software recently.
Sometimes an upgrade can cause themes to have errors in certain areas of the site, in the meantime you can go to the bottom and select "default" from the theme menu and that should allow you to access Account Settings without an error.

I'll refer this onto @Digital and get him to look into it. :)

  13. I've recently decided to get back into anime, which may partly explain my absence from here, and started binging BnHA (Boku No Hero Acadamia). I've got up to half way through ep. 27, but I've recently also finished watching playthroughs of the 1st and 2nd Danganronpa games and the 2nd anime (Danganronpa 3: The End Of Hope Peak High School).

So you could say I've got my hands full with it all.
Is there any anime you are currently into?
