One ambitious idea was deciding to make a new pet site and getting started that day with Michael. We named it IcePets, and @Nate made it possible with years of development.
Over ambitious because I had no clear picture what to expect at the start, was just disappointed as a player seeing Teripets decline and wanted to do more.

You'll always have difficulties to solve, especially if you're growing with new developments and doing new things. If people can sign up and play it's an open pet site.

Estimate the number of hours from your life invested into the project to your magic number, it's not something to be ashamed of or to hold high the opinions of outside critics looking in from their own muddy water.

NPC Shops new restocking algorithm gives each shop it's own restocking time schedule, rules for number of items and quantity of each, item rarities considered in the restock, and a handy timer that auto refreshes shop stock at 00:00 (no need to refresh screen).
New books from @superbearwars are stocking and the rarest added to Book Bag openable!

Crafting store stocks materials you can use in the coming plushie factory, for items like the Petittroll family.
30 more hidden avatars were just released, representing pet species and element colors.
Quests are giving more gold now, these will always give you a profit when buying the items from NPC stores or from player shops close to NPC prices.

Spy glass is broken and needs parts! Find them in the crafting store to get it back up giving gold and kudos.

Quick stock moves items with a tap on mobile or pc, same when pricing items, no need for extra click of submitting selections!

Map art was done by Hornbuckle, and each element themed section of the map will have it's own land.

The future of traditional browser based virtual pet sites is in making sure it's 100% mobile friendly (not manually stuck with navigating an outdated game). Less time on PC, more time on mobile, most pet sites not so friendly to devices people are spending more time is probably playing a big role there.
