  1. @bird I will be sure to do that! I think I might get back into it very soon because I need a good relaxing game to distract me. I have so many projects going on right now that I need to learn to relax. I just love how this game allows all console/pc players to play with each other no matter what. I need to just find a bluetooth keyboard to hook up to my ps4 because I feel bad when players are trying to talk to me and they clearly have a keyboard and I can't respond quick enough before they run off thinking I'm ignoring them I also have a really great PC, but I don't enjoy playing games on the PC as much as I do a console. Unless they are of course browser-based games.
  2. I use jQuery every now and then, but I mainly use Vue.js since I prefer a more object-oriented way of doing things. jQuery can get SUPER messy real quick. At work where I work (JM Smucker's), we use jQuery just because the other developers aren't familiar with object-oriented Javascript. But Vue.js will always be my favorite Javascript framework Another good framework that I love to use that is pure Javascript is Ember.js. I developed an entire application within Ember and it was frustrating at times since I don't like some of the ways they do things, but it's a good framework to use for an application.
  3. I was playing this game for a little bit! I LOVED it. But then I started playing XV when it came out, but now that I beat it, I want to switch back to XIV. I just wish I didn't have to pay monthly, but I understand why they do that. It was so entertaining. I'm also on the PS4 <3 Now I definitely want to start playing again so I have some friends I could hang out with on there!
  4. Thank you! And yes. We are having a little girl <3 Her name is Madilyn Joella! Right now, I'm developing an RPG simulation game that is browser based in the Laravel framework. It has evolution (baby and adult) stages and relies heavily on adventuring and battling (a card-based battle system). It also has intuitive quests (not just your typical go fetch these items and I will reward you). Crafting is an essential part in the game to basically make any finished item to put it to use. I'm finalizing the storyline this week and we already have over 25+ NPCs and 5+ pets. We have loads of items that are already drawn out and a couple minigames so development is coming along pretty well.
  5. @Syntax great to hear! I have never used Statamic so I'll have to check it out. Right now I have used OctoberCMS and am currently testing out PyroCMS I love CMS's that are based on Laravel especially for my larger clients with larger businesses. AngularJS is a good Javascript framework. I have never used it, but the developers that made VueJS said they based a lot of their concepts on AngularJS, but it's more lightweight and simplistic. Oh noooo!! I don't understand how people can develop without version control! Especially if there is more than one developer. Come June, it's SUPER hot here so I'm sure I'll be inside 24/7 when the temp starts to rise
  6. @Syntax that's good to know, thank you for informing me! What other Javascript frameworks have you used? Are you using the new Laravel framework or one of the older versions? I didn't know if you were doing projects in the newest versions! And I agree. My job uses Pimcore as their CMS and while I knew a lot of other CMS's including Silverstripe (which is also MVC), I was able to catch on pretty quickly. The only strange thing about Pimcore is how they create their objects since it's not anything like Laravel using Eloquent or anything. Have you ever done the repository pattern in any projects? I have that setup for mine and was just curious! It's also our first baby We may have one more in the future, but I'm not entirely sure yet since I don't want too many kids! I have a lot of hobbies and want to still have time for those as well! I also want to provide her with a lot of opportunities and with my husband being a stay at home parent, I want our financial status to stay where it's at since I can easily support a family of three at the moment
  7. I got into game development when I was around 12 years old. Of course, it started off with Neopets... I would always play with my twin sister and we had a lot of roleplaying characters so even though it wasn't allowed, we had like 10 accounts each But I wish there were certain features available on Neopets so then I wanted to create a similar site with all the features we wanted. However, it broke off to be way more than that. Now 10+ years later, I'm developing something totally different inspired from all the games I have played in the past and with my husband. And from being on the computer developing the same project over and over again, I learned a lot of new technologies. I kept scrapping so many projects since I learned new technologies such as CodeIgniter and then I went into Laravel. It just kept expanding so now I finally stuck with the technologies I want to use and have been developing the project for a good few months now. However, what was a hobby also turned into a professional career for me I am now working at J.M. Smuckers full-time and hope to continue on my project during my maternity leave.
  8. I may be interested in bringing you on for some features on my project after I give birth to see my remaining funds! I give birth July 6th so I hope you're still available around that time. <3 You seem very knowledgeable in your skills. Currently, I'm the lead developer and owner of the project. It is developed in Laravel with Vue.js at the front-end framework. We also use Bootstrap for the grid system and some other small Javascript components. The main thing we are using for mini-games and the adventure/battle system is Phaser.io. Do you have any experience in these specific technologies?
  9. Thank you! Well I was a part of VPL so.. I was tired of the downtime and searched for a new gaming forum and saw this one just appeared. And I love how nice the content looks and the forums are gorgeous. The interface is just pleasant to browse. I LOVE the forum adoptables idea. It makes it seem more like a game/community rather than just a community. And so far, I like how most of the topics revolve around games instead of weird topics that have no relevance. You may know me as Peanut from other communities! I am currently developing a game and have been for the past 5 months. I'm working full-time right now since I am 26 weeks pregnant and want to be able to support my family so development has slowed down a bit, but hopefully it'll pick back up after I go on maternity leave! I also am just rebranding my business from Intellect Productions to Lacuna Cube Solutions and am almost done developing the front-end side of the new website. I will be HOPEFULLY launching it this weekend! I got my first local client a few weeks ago and am going to attempt to get two others that I found that need a website, but am still looking for more freelancing opportunities. I have a husband who also plays games with me, but he usually doesn't join communities like these since he doesn't type too much I just annoy him with all the games that are currently catching my attention.
  10. I like having a button where you can just click on "Unread posts" and see the latest posts from the last time you visited.
  11. That is a very cool update I just joined recently and found this adoptables feature a really unique touch to the forums! I also love how clean and structured these forums are!
