I evolved my Kitsu and still can't figure out how to name it.  I tried naming it when I evolved it and got a database error, so I did a regular unnamed evolve, and now I can't name it.  Is there a way to allow us to manually name them?

Uh oh, looks like you stumbled on a bug. I will work to get that fixed post-haste. In the meantime, if you shoot me what you wanted to name your Adoptable, and which adoptable, I will change it for you :)

  2. So, as some of you may know, you can usually choose a reaction at the bottom of a person's post. What you may not know, is these help that user know how you feel. Many also give positive reputation to that user, which helps them win our Leaderboard! Reacting to posts is something that everyone should be doing as it helps highlight those members who are putting out great topics and posts.

You will notice I have added a lot more reactions, as well as worked the images to match our emoticons as well. This should allow a wider range of reactions for everyone. If you have any suggestions, please comment below!:thumbsup:!

  4. Hello fellow TGL'ites :) . I am hoping this topic will catch on, and we can get to know all our members in more details. I know we do individual introduction threads for everyone, but these tend to be more "Welcome, glad you made it." type of affairs.

What I want to know, is about all of you.

So, lets introduce yourselves by sharing some basic facts about ourselves, these can be in the form of:

    • How old you are.
    • What your gender is.
    • Where you live (can be general or exact).
    • What you do / What you are studying.
    • How many pets (and/or) kids you have.

This is also an open topic, so feel to reply with questions or input from what people post. This topic is all about getting to know each other and saying "Howdy"!

I like the idea of offering advantages to people working together.
I'm sure there are different ways to implement that. Maybe one thing that could work is to give bonus SP if two or more people work together on something at the same time, like battling and enemy together.

This would be one potential benefit from teamwork. As I mentioned, there is an economical. Usually the teams that can gather the most will usually have the greatest growth and advantage in most other aspects of a game.

Also, I'm not sure what competitive advantage you'd have from different people playing as each wolf versus having all the accounts you run yourself.

Assuming there is an economy, a single user cannot amass nearly enough resources efficiently to be able to provide any wide advantage. A group can gather more then a single person. It's one reason why we are communal creatures by nature.

One of the reasons people make all the accounts themselves on my game is because they can't get people online and coordinating things as quickly since people sign off or go awol for days at a time. Then it becomes easier for them to do it themselves.

There is this, which I can totally agree on players doing it themselves if the game's community/activity is too little to provide enough players. The nice thing about the idea behind this game is that some packs (especially the ones you join at the start) have some NPC based wolves to help.

So I will tell you from my experience that getting members to work as a team is really difficult. I have a similar feature in my horse game and what happens is everyone creates multiple accounts and plays all the different povs. So you will end up with people creating their own packs. Just an FYI.

I guess the argument (and this is strictly game d sign and theory) is whether or not those people are able to do better playing all sides versus a group of people working together.

It isn’t so much trying to stop people from that play style but offering advantages to group cooperation.

Whether or not two packs are allies or enemies can vary, but what about sharing pack information?

I would say the answer lies here. If two packs are allies, then you can share such information. If they are enemies, then no information gets shared. I think most users should catch on to this relatively quickly.

I want some way to discourage users from sharing info about moves their pack has made during their "turns". It wouldn't be against the rules, but openly sharing this with others could put them at a disadvantage.; sort of like showing another person your cards during a card game. I feel like this could pose a problem once the userbase gets big enough, like trolls who just like to sabotage or newbies who just don't know any better.

I think this is more of a culture things for the site, how your forums present themselves, having helpful rules and guidelines to point out the potential of upsetting your pack if were to sabotage or otherwise share something that could be harmful. This is where I think appropriate social engineering comes in, and maybe a little moderation.

My biggest fear is always paying money to others and having nothing delivered in return.

My fear is not getting it done ever hahaha

How have you worked through this fear so far? Perhaps a contract or other form of guarantee?

Another one is just development in general. Though it's bad for me to say, my thoughts before doing literally anything dev related is "I have no idea what I'm doing". My budget's so small that I can't pay to hire other people, and I usually wonder if I even know how to do what I want to add. I usually push through by rearranging upcoming features based on my current skill set from the previous ones, but it's always something I think about.

It is always scary to do something new without previous knowledge. You have done a great job with Foodbabs and it shows!
