  1. WOW they are super adorable! Thank you so much for this lovely adopt <3
  2. Still looking for a programmer confident in HTML5!
  3. Thank you so much for sharing that @Passage !
  4. Hi all! I'm looking for a new programmer to join Kasaria, a virtual petsite that takes you to explore and settle on a new planet while scientists work on healing Earth. I'm really looking to push Kasaria out of development and closed beta faster and need someone who is kind, enjoys petsites, and is a communicative teammate. Requirements: *Be 18 years of age or older, and be willing to sign a NDA *Be comfortable working with PHP, databases, HTML5, and a bit of Javascript - Kasaria uses clean procedural PHP. I can send a code sample if interested *Can pick up from other's code - The first big project will be the battle system, which is at 50% - I also have another programmer, but I will avoid overlaps where possible *Communicate - Discord preferred, but I can make exceptions Payment: Please include your cost per hour in your message or if you prefer by the script. Payment via paypal. I have a low budget as I'm finishing up my senior year of college. Depending on the month and the urgency of the script, I'm looking to do about $50-100 of work on an average month. The battle script is more urgent, so this is negotiable. Perfect for those who have a little extra time or may be interested in a long-term project down the line. As things progress, the budget can increase. NOTE: If you have a need, I would also be interested in trading art for a portion of the cost. Can provide more work or a custom samples upon request. My portfolio: https://www.pepperishstudio.com/ Application: If this sounds like a job for you, that's great! I can't wait to meet you! Please PM this form, or feel free to respond with questions Name/Nickname: Email: Proficiency in PHP and HTML5: Other skills: Working rate: Would you be interested in trading a portion for art?: How much time can you dedicate per month: Link to some of your work: References and contact info:
  5. After a month of teaser dialog, the plot is finally here! Join the newest Faerie, Kaia, and figure out why the Wraiths have returned. --- Fyora has gathered her troops and is finally ready for you to join her at The Faerie Resistance Headquarters in time for The Wraith Resurgence! You've waited patiently for our next adventure and now the time has come for you to make waves and assemble your pets for total domination. Good luck, the future of Neopia is in your hands… And, while you’re at it, don’t forget - Taelia is in dire need of a potion!! She needs to concoct something so powerful that it brings these Wraiths down! It's the first one on the site in several years! View full news
  6. @Corleone Hey there! It's great to see you again <3 How have you been?
  7. Can you believe it? The pet site most of us started on and grew up with is now 18! Despite this milestone, nothing extra special was released so far this week (except for a free NC Mall goodie bag), but they are gearing up for their first plot in years that should happen any day now. Jumpstart has hired a full time HTML5 developer and have begun revamping the old Flash games behind the scenes in preparation for 2020 when Flash won't be supported anymore, they've added a 5th (6th for Premium users) pet slot, and acknowledged that a new layout is definitely needed. What are some fond memories you have on Neopets, and what do you hope for in the future?
  8. Haha, I remember seeing Hobby Lobby rolling their Christmas stuff out back in June. I still have a few Halloween decorations I haven't been able to pick up, but now that finals are over for me I can put those away. The plan is to start decorating for Christmas on/around Thanksgiving, but it depends on what shifts I'm scheduled at work. Good luck to others working on Thanksgiving/Black Friday!
  9. YES, another one!!! Thanks for feeding my adoptable addiction <3
  10. Dropping a recommendation here! I create art assets for Vix / Celestial Equine and I have to say she's been one of my favorite clients to work with! She's very pleasant, organized, and thorough with what she needs, is extremely fair with pricing and timelines, and has always been on the ball with fast responses to any questions/updates. I'm sure this translates to any programmers she works with too!
  11. Awesome, thank you so much for the new adopt @Digital and @Ouli ! Can't wait to hatch mine
  12. I noticed this little friend on the homepage and they are so cute! I'm totally going to draw some fan art when I get a chance.
  13. Hooray!!! Also can I just say that I'm happy that you've enabled reactions on your posts again, Digital?
  14. @Digital I've held off on making a Game Listing for Kasaria for a while, mostly because I wanted to be out of closed beta first, but from a design standpoint I might have a few suggestions! First off, I think it would be very nice if the 6 featured games went by in a gallery slideshow option, or simply had a link to expand to see more games. (If those are featured/sponsored, disregard this! Just thought something a little more interactive might be nice!) It might also be nice if there were little icons or some kind of visuals for the categories up top, similar to how the front page of the forums have icons. The only other thing I'd want to add is maybe content checking by staff? Some listings have the same thing copy pasted for the Overview and Features section, and some don't even have game cover images. Otherwise, it looks pretty well organized and there's lots of opportunities to show off a game! When I get some free time, I wouldn't mind filling in some games
  15. Awesome, loving this thread <3 I'm 21, female, and from North Carolina. I'm in my senior year at SCAD for my BFA in Illustration! After I graduate, my dream would be to freelance through an agency or on my own for children's books, concept art, and game assets. I'd love for Kasaria to take off enough to support itself and maybe earn a little extra income, but its more a labor of love right now As for pets, I've always had dogs and hamsters, but currently I have two jack russell mixes back home. While I'm away for college I help look after three cats who have way too much personality for their own good.
  16. Awesome, thanks for the fast implement! Liking the ability to share adopts around too!
  17. Oh goodness, the lists are too long to name them all! I'm constantly getting shown great artists so that I can pour over their works and analyze their treatment of light, color, composition, etc. Simon Stalenhag is one of my favorites to look over. On his website, he'll post little zoomed in detail images and its just spectacular to see how some areas are tight, but a lot of it is gestural and very textured. He must work at massive canvas sizes! His website is literally an eye-candy store: http://www.simonstalenhag.se/ I also admire Joy Ang as an illustrator it's good to have an artist to look at and see someone who sorta has a similar style and is doing what you want to do. I'll drop her link, too! http://joyang.ca/artwork/
  18. I like how low maintenance adopts are, since this is a forum first and foremost. A few suggestions that may give them a little more spice? Which you can use all or none depending on how you feel adopts should fit here: Maybe use a blackened silhouette or just a ? image in the Adoptable Codex or in the adopt's preview until you actually grow through it yourself. You'd still be able to see other's adopts around the forums as clues as to what else is around, but there'd be a little more mystery and fun to it. Possibly some alternate forms. Either as 1 gets a "shiny" form with colors that has a chance to be when it hatches, or it has a chance to evolve into a variant by features, like one has antlers and the rarer form doesn't Some adopts have evolution "paths" where one adopt has two or more paths that it has the potential to adopt down, determined by how quickly it is grown A link on the adoptable codex to lead to your adopts for convenience, since the adoptables tab at the top is more visible than going under your avatar and clicking "my adoptables" Maybe in the future when there's more members and more adopts, double XP days, where XP is earned at twice the rate as normal Maybe some adoptables are given out as you reach posting landmarks (every 500 posts awards an exclusive egg or unlocks it for you in the shop, or you only get one at 1k posts, but I'd say that should depend on if those adopts have variants or shiny forms)
  19. Thank you for reverting back! I'm sure I would have gotten used to the changes, but I noticed there were a lot of cool and easy features that this version offers that the switch did not. Still, I really appreciate you for trying something new for the good of TGL!
  20. This long requested feature is now a reality! Also if you haven't been keeping up on Neo lately, there's a battle-related plot (an actual plot!) set to start around November.
  21. I think @SingSong really hit the nail on the head with all that info! I got my button maker a few years back on eBay. I remember it being really hard to get one within my price range, since they were in hot demand (probably still are haha!) I think I lucked out and bought mine for about $80 (I see the same one but new for $200 on ebay now, I just got lucky with an auction) but it's a lot larger than most buttons sold at conventions. I think it's 2" or 2.25". It came with a TON of blank materials too and I've barely used it It was really fun to bring to art trade day at my college's club and was a big hit! I've grown fonder of the larger size as well, it really does allow for more detail. Kicking myself because it came with a circle cutter, but it looks a lot different and I couldn't figure out what it was for so it's probably in some random box in storage It would make your life 100% easier with a button maker though, since the press could mess up the button if the paper isn't cut right.
  22. If you're thinking of inviting Julie to review your game, it sounds like you want something very complete and almost ready to launch. So it really depends on what you want from your game and what you want players to test! That way you can get a strong review from her. Think about what you need in terms of Pets, Exploring, Quests, Social Features, etc and take another look at what games Julie has already tested and what sort of features they had already to really give an idea of what the game is about, and how that worked in their favor as she reviewed them. The 1st of September is literally at the end of this week, so I'm not sure how much you can add/change until then. If you don't think you're ready, maybe have your Alpha and then wait until your Beta or when things are more polished before inviting a reviewer. (I have no idea how much is going on with Kinderpets, so I'm not saying you aren't ready - I just don't know!)
  23. @runeowl Followed! I'm https://www.instagram.com/pepperishstudio/
  24. I head back next month (on a 10 week quarter schedule) and I'm feeling mixed! It's my senior year, so there's a lot of pressure for me to either land an internship or a job :"D Those student loans aren't going to pay themselves after my grace period is up!
